2016 APRC Conference Theme – COLLECTIVE INTELLIGENCE
“Collective intelligence”; Problems we face in marketing research are becoming increasingly complicated these days. In order to conquer these various problems, a collective knowledge and skills between experts and companies, regardless of boarders, are an important key for finding new solutions. We believe that the next generation of marketing research will be built by the collaboration between one another, rather than one individual or company possessing all the skills.
It is our absolute pleasure to be hosting the annual APRC conference for the second time this year. If you have missed the first time Japan hosted the conference in 2010, we advise you to come and join us this time. Since this event will be a joint annual conference by APRC and JMRA (Japan Marketing Research Association), we expect it to be of a larger scale in comparison to past years with many papers on the latest topics.
Keynote Speakers
Three separate sessions will take place simultaneously in three different halls. Sessions will contain various themes covering topics specific to Japan and/or international topics. We currently have more than 20 presentations including keynote speeches scheduled for the conference.
Opening Keynote Speech
Mr. Jun Masuda
Director, Chief Strategy and Marketing Officer of
LINE Corporation
Mr. Jun Masuda joined NAVER Japan in 2008 as a chief strategist and head of the Business Strategy Department. When the 3 group companies of NHN Japan Group (LINE, NAVER, and Livedoor) merged in 2012 as NHN Japan Corporation, he became the chief strategy and marketing officer (CSMO) for the three brands, and remained as the CSMO when the company changed its name to LINE Corporation in 2013. In 2014, while maintaining his role as CSMO, he was appointed senior executive officer of LINE Corporation, and currently serves as the director and CSMO of the company.
Closing Keynote Speech
Mr. Eiichiro Misaki
Product Development Consultant, Business Book Author, Lecturer
Mr. Eiichiro Misaki was born in 1971 in Yokohama and was brought up in Osaka. After completing graduate school of engineering at Osaka Prefecture University, he worked at Kao Corporation for 15 years. At Kao, he worked as a project leader for product development in various genres including FMCG, cosmetics to chemicals.
Currently he works as an independent consultant for product development in wide range of fields including stationeries, haircare products, miscellaneous goods and products for Japanese‐style hotels. His comprehensive method of support from planning, sales to PR strategy with an aim to achieve results in one year is highly evaluated within the industry. In addition to consultation, he is also an active business writer and a lecturer.
